Critical Lift Planning

Toolbox Talk:

Conduct a Pre-Lift Meeting

June 22, 2025

Before a critical lift, gather the crew to walk through the operation.

Why It Matters:

Pre-lift meetings align everyone on the plan, roles, and safety precautions. They give crews a chance to catch issues early — before they happen in the air.

Key Points:

  • Review the written lift plan together — no one should be in the dark.
  • Go over roles, load path, nearby hazards, and exclusion zones.
  • Confirm communication methods: radios, channels, backup signals.
  • Encourage the crew to speak up about concerns or unclear steps.

✅ Talk it out before you lift it up.

Ask the Crew:

  • Did we review the plan as a team?
  • Is anyone unclear on their task or communication method?
