Critical Lift Planning

Toolbox Talk:

Document the Lift for Accountability

June 22, 2025

Every critical lift should be thoroughly documented for safety, compliance, and future planning.

Why It Matters:

Good documentation ensures accountability. It allows teams to review performance, learn from near misses, and prove that the proper procedures were followed.

Key Points:

  • Record personnel involved, equipment used, and timing of the lift.
  • Note any delays, weather issues, or unexpected events.
  • Document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Store all records with your jobsite’s safety documentation.

✅ If it’s not written down, it didn’t happen.

Ask the Crew:

  • Who is responsible for documenting today’s lift?
  • Do we know where the records are kept?
