Scaffold access points must remain clear of tools, materials, or debris at all times.
Why It Matters:
Blocked ladders or stair towers slow down daily work — and worse, they can delay escape in an emergency. A cluttered access point is a hazard waiting to happen.
Key Points:
- Never store materials or tools near scaffold access ladders or stairways.
- Maintain at least 3 feet of clearance at all scaffold entry and exit points.
- Ensure all access areas are stable, dry, and free of slip/trip hazards.
- Supervisors should routinely inspect access points for obstructions.
✅ A clear path is a safe path — every shift, every scaffold.
Ask the Crew:
- Are all of our scaffold access points clear and usable?
- Do we need to remove anything blocking safe entry or exit?
