A complete work surface keeps you safe and productive — missing planks are a serious hazard.
Why It Matters:
Gaps or missing planks on a scaffold platform increase the risk of slips, trips, and falls. OSHA requires platforms to be fully planked and secured. Even a small gap can send tools — or a worker — over the edge.
Key Points:
- All scaffold platforms must be fully decked with no large gaps.
- Planks must be scaffold-grade and extend over supports by 6–12 inches (unless secured).
- Do not use broken, warped, or improvised materials.
- Secure all planks to prevent movement or uplift in high winds.
- Keep platforms clean — no loose debris or excess materials.
✅ A full deck is a safe deck.
Ask the Crew:
- Are all our scaffold platforms fully planked today?
- Have we checked for unsecured or damaged planks?
